Yap has won four Gemini nominations, the Canadian equivalent of the Emmy.

An episode of Dive Detectives, the Edmund Fitzgerald-Rogue Wave, has been nominated for Best History Program. The film uncovered new evidence for the sinking of the iconic ship. Singer-Songwriter Gordon Lightfoot rewrote one of the verses to his epic eulogy, the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, in response to the program's findings.

And Fire Jammers has been nominated for  Best Program in Performing Arts. The show is a one hour special that follows the performers and crew of pyrotechnicians extraordinaire, Circus Orange.  It also won nominations for its director, Michael Morrow, and editor Jason Gatt.
